About
All our Eco-Tile family of products are made from locally sourced materials at our state-of-the-art Spokane factory, which, along with our dedication to sustainable business practices, earns LEED certification for most of what we make.
Blessed with an abundance of the world’s finest ceramic clays thanks to massive Ice Age floods, Eastern Washington was an ideal place to found the Quarry Tile Company in 1965, in the beautiful city of Spokane.
Although we originally manufactured only unglazed “quarry tile”, today the Quarry Tile Company primarily makes glazed tile in more than 150 shapes and sizes, and more than 125 standard colors. After three expansions of our factory, we are now one of the world’s largest specialty tile manufacturers, with a vast range of products stretching from high-quality commercial tile to customized artistic creations, offering nearly unlimited design possibilities.
All our Eco-Tile family of products are made from locally sourced materials at our state-of-the-art Spokane factory, which, along with our dedication to sustainable business practices, earns LEED certification for most of what we make.
Quarry Tile now serves distributors and architects on projects ranging from single homes to global restaurant chains, to major historical restorations such as the New York Subway and the Los Angeles Library. Through our subsidiary Precision H2O, we are also a leader in water-jet cutting for special shapes and murals. No matter the scope or complexity, you’ll find us committed to delivering unsurpassed choices in color and style, and unmatched customer attention.
We strive to be the finest tile manufacturer in the United States, with unparalleled choices in color and shape, and with absolute dedication to the industry partners and architects who specify our products in new and exciting projects.
In addition to pioneering the use of recycled materials and sustainable manufacturing, Quarry Tile Co. is also proud to be a Women Owned Business.

For a close-up look at the details of our sustainable tile, here are the specs for our leading line of recycled tile, Natural Hues on Eco-Body:
LEED MR-4 Credit, Recycled content:
Eco-Body currently contains about 53% total recycled content as defined by the latest EPA Guidelines, LEED® 2009 (Version 3) and ISO 14021. It is a combination of pre-consumer wastes collected and recycled from Quarry Tile Co manufacturing operations and pre-consumer solid wastes from the computer industry (note: pre-consumer wastes were called “post-industrial wastes” prior to ISO 14021 and LEED 2.2). Natural Hues on Eco-Body combines pre-consumer grinding paste from the computer industry with pre-consumer recycled glaze waste and other recycled wastes from our wastewater recycling system. We first turn these recycled wastes into a slurry, and then into fine powder that we mix with our amazing local clays to produce Natural Hues on Eco-Body.
LEED MR-5 Credit, Regional Materials:
By weight, 97.1% of the product is extracted or recovered within 500 miles of our factory in Spokane, Washington.
LEED IEQ 4.3 Credit:
The tile is fired at very high temperatures, usually in excess of 2,000°F, burning away all organic compounds, making the final product inert and free of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. Due to its VOC-free nature, ceramic and porcelain tile products are exempt from all testing criteria outlined in LEED 2009 IEQ Credit 4.3. (On April 14, 2010, USGBC issued an addendum to LEED 2009 Rating Systems’ IEQ Credit 4.3. It states, “Mineral-based finished flooring products such as tile, masonry, terrazzo, and cut stone without integral organic-based coatings and sealants … qualify for credit without any IAQ testing requirements.”)
ANSI 137.1 section 6.1:
As do all Quarry Tile Products, Eco-Body meets or exceeds all of the requirements of ANSI 137.1 section 6.1. The tile is available in 50 plus colors, 13 field tile sizes and all of the key trim shapes needed for floors and walls.
All without a premium price:
Eco-Body pricing is consistent with other Quarry Tile Co. products and competitive with other manufacturer’s offerings, so you needn’t pay more for unsurpassed sustainability in tile.
